We invoke the Temple through breath, visualization, asana, strengthening practice, and a modern day expression of the ancient lineages of Sacred Dance. Our dance includes Indian Odissi, Central Asian, Middle Eastern & Arabian, Flamenco, and the Bay's Tribal Belly Dance. We will also introduce the Dakinis and their lineage, as well as why they are signifiant in this extraordinary and intensely shifting time.
Adopting traditions from various times and cultures, Tenley's dance is based on Tribal Belly Dance, with a distinctive modern fusion of traditional sacred dance forms, creating "Temple Tribal Fusion". She has had the exquisite opportunities to study with dance and yoga legends around the world. Her specialty focuses on the Tales of the Gypsy Trail, starting with sacred dances from India, through Persia and Central Asia, meeting Arabian dances of the Middle East and North Africa, into Flamenco Spain, then jumping an ocean to the San Francisco Bay where she lived for most of her life. In recent years, she united her love for Tibetan Buddhism's Wisdom Dakinis with her passion and path of dance. The exploration of uniting these has lead to the birth of Vajrasa Temple Dance Ensemble. Work as a performer, teacher, and garment designer has been presented both domestically & internationally. Tenley's current projects and passion are Vajrasa and Florio Temple Tribal garments, both of these companies are currently based in Ashland, Oregon.
